4 layers in total, 2 bamboo (80% bamboo) and 2 hemp (55% hemp, 45% cotton). A must have accessory for anyone using reusable pocket nappies to increase absorbency. They are made for those heavy wetters or when travelling for an extended time. The natural fibre content is much higher than most inserts on the market.
